1. Commitment to User Privacy

Protecting your privacy is a top priority for Vivaldi Technologies AS. All personal information you provide while using Vivaldi products or services is secured and never shared with third parties—except when legally required by a verified court order.

2. Data Collected by Vivaldi

When you install and use Vivaldi, each installation profile receives a unique ID stored locally on your device. The browser sends a secure HTTPS request to Vivaldi’s servers (located in Iceland) every 24 hours containing:

• Unique installation ID
• Browser version
• CPU architecture
• Screen resolution
• Time since last activity message

Vivaldi anonymizes your IP address by removing the last octet before performing a local GeoIP lookup to determine approximate region-based metrics. This information is used only to measure total active users and geographical distribution.

3. Default Bookmarks & Partner Links

Vivaldi includes predefined bookmarks—some of which are partner links. These help support the browser financially. Cookies may be set by partner websites, but you are free to delete any bookmarks at any time.

4. Browsing Data & Personal History

Your browsing history, downloaded content, and search terms are stored locally on your device only. Vivaldi Technologies has no access to this data, and it cannot be shared without your action.

5. Password Storage

Vivaldi uses your operating system’s secure password storage framework to encrypt saved login credentials. No passwords are sent to Vivaldi servers.

7. Crash Reports (Optional)

If users enable automatic crash reporting, Vivaldi sends detailed logs to help identify issues. Logs may contain temporary memory data but are immediately processed into a stack trace and then deleted. Only the crash location and page URL (for 60 days) are retained.

8. GeoIP Usage

Vivaldi may use your IP address solely to check availability for location-based features (like direct match sponsorship). This lookup is local and the IP is discarded immediately.
